BUTTERFLY

by LISA ARNOTT

YOU REMIND ME OF A BUTTERFLY,
STOPPING AT EVERY FLOWER YOU COULD,
TASTING LIFE AS SWEET AS IT IS,
AS EVERY WOMAN SHOULD.

SEARCHING FOR YOUR TRUE LOVE,
WITH YOUR BRIGHTLY COLORED WINGS.
CARRYING WITH YOU ALL YOUR KNOWLEDGE,
THAT LIFE SO OFTEN BRINGS.

YOUR MEMORIES AND LIFE EXPERIENCES,
SOME GOOD AND THEN SOME BAD,
BUT WE ALL LEARN FROM THESE
AND ARE THANKFUL THAT WE HAD.

SOARING THROUGH THE MANY FIELDS,
AND THEN BACK TO THE BLUE SKY,
STUNG TOO MANY TIMES,
THIS BUTTERFLY STAYS HIGH.

KEEPING YOUR DISTANCE FROM THE FIELDS,
TO PREVENT THE BITE OF PAIN,
BUT IF YOU NEVER GOT A BEE STING
WHAT EVER IS THERE TO GAIN?

WHEN YOU'RE READY, BUTTERFLY,
TO BRING THOSE WINGS TO FIELD,
TASTE THOSE FLOWERS BEING OFFERED,
AND REMOVE YOURSELF FROM YOUR BLUE SHIELD.

ITS A BEAUTIFUL POEM
THANK YOU LISA...
MY HEART WILL TELL ME WHEN
