DANDELION

By Lady Jira

SHE CAME UPON A DANDELION

SHE CAME UPON A DANDELION
AND WITH TINY FINGERS PLUCKED

SHE COULDN'T REMEMBER WHAT TO DO
BUT SHE WOULD, IN TIME, WITH LUCK

SUDDENLY IT CAME TO HER
AND SHE KNEW JUST WHAT TO DO

SHE FILLED HER TINY LUNGS WITH AIR
AND WITH ALL HER MIGHT SHE BLEW

THE SEEDLINGS FLEW ABOUT HER
LIKE FAERIES IN THE WIND

SHE LAUGHED AND DANCED AND CLAPPED HER HANDS
AND RAN TO DO IT AGAIN
