In May of 2002, I was able to take a day trip to Fredricksberg, Texas. This quaint little mid-Texas town boasted German heritage, antique shops galore and the Admiral Nimitz Museum as well as the George Bush WWII Museum. Please see the Nimitz museum website at http://www.nimitz-museum.org/. Unfortunately I was unable to find the George Bush WWII website but if you visit Fredricksberg, the George Bush WWII Museum is right next door to the Nimitz Museum.

Between the two museums you will find the Presidential Circle. This exhibit features plaques of presidents past that have served in the armed forces. Pictures soon to come.
The Nimitz Museum also gave visitors a special treat. Down the street, there was a live demonstration of past and current weapons of warfare. It was impressive and they pulled no punches in demonstrating the brutality of war. The lady sitting next to me was wise to take her young daughter away before the demonstration began. Pictures soon to come.
